New comet C/2013 Y2 (PANSTARRS)
On Jan. 10th the discovery of a new comet C/2013 Y2 (PANSTARRS) was reported, which have been made on Dec. 30th 2013 on the Hawaiian Islands. The comet has a small compact coma and a brightness of 17m.
C/2013 Y2 will be passing its perihelion point in June 2014 at a distance of 1.9 а.u. Since the comet is approaching the Sun and the Earth, it will be enhancing its brightness. The brightness may increase by up to two magnitudes by the time it reaches its perihelion.
