CometBase Alert №3. Comet 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann bright outburst!

Paul Camilleri (Australia) first reported comet 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann bright outburst occurred. The outburst was confirmed by visual observations. Chris Wyatt (Australia) observed comet on May 7.53 under the moonlight using 0.25-m reflector noting its “coma was round in appearance, small (0.3'), pale blue in colour, with disc-like central condensation sometimes appearing stellar in good seeing”.

Richard Miles (UK) noted:
The outburst is therefore the brightest since the unusual one of 2010 February 02.5. Further observations are strongly encouraged. In particular, bright outbursts can actually trigger other active sites on the nucleus to also go into outburst. These can happen between 4-16 days after the initial event. Also multi-filter observations would be nice”.

Observe comet 29P/Schwassmann-Wachmann and report your observations to CometBase! It should be mentioned that the observations of the comet are complicated by a dense stellar field of the Milky Way in the constellation Scorpius where the comet is currently located.
